The Epoch Times article about the debates last night has a mention that I think is important. In his comments, “Biden said he didn’t see his role as one in reaching out to Democrat mayors and governors to push them to quell ongoing unrest in their cities and states.” My question would be “Gee, Mr.Biden who the hell is supposed to remind Governors of what the Constitution and the Penal Codes say about burning down cities?” The main reason this country was created was to offer “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” All three of those have not just been denied, they have been ripped away from the business owners whose businesses are destroyed. The residents who shop there, walk by, drive by, and live near the fires are far from happy one has to assume. By contrast, in a separate Epoch Times article about the Proud Boys https://www.theepochtimes.com/proud-boys-leader-group-will-stand-down-standby-after-trump-remarks_3520214.html who have clashed with Antifa and other radical troublemakers have been charged with crimes. It seems the Antifa, who according to other articles say began agitation by bottle throwing and fireworks have faced no prosecution by local officials. But when we worked the streets during my days in law enforcement, of two fellows fought, we did not ask “who started it.” We put them both in jail for mutual combat.
In Trump’s remarks, he told the Proud Boys to “stand down” and the leader Enrique Tarrio immediately responded on Parler that he would. So with a request, the Commander in Chief, got a commitment out of the leader of the Proud Boys to not fight. Biden would not have asked, according to what he said, so it seems he never learned to “use his words” a simple thing we teach toddlers.
That’s it, Trump is a master at making a deal, proposing a plan, making policy is what we call politics. What you call the 47 years of gaffes, plagiarism, what seems to be extortion and international crime is anything but artful.
Who won the debate? No one. No one could have won because of the marshmallow of a newsman who failed to manage the debate. Instead, it appeared he decided to turn the debate into an image-making event for himself. Maybe he had the idea that the news today would be all about him, maybe he has personal animus toward the president? My first question for Chris Wallace would be, ” How much did you get, was it money or did they promise you would be invited to their parties.”
It’s interesting to watch a competent man dealing with those who merely think themselves competent. Trump made his points, showed the public how little Biden had to offer and made points with a group of angry black men – all while Chris Wallace made a fool of himself.
It was bad television and bad behavior. The American people deserve better. WDE
